Note: This specific event is for people ages 40-59.The group will be meeting upstairs in a private party room.If you have a dog there's the Truckee Meadows Dog Club with classes.I would spend time pursuing hobbies, interests, and enjoy the year 'round special events/sports/local culture of the area.Think of it as a series of “facilitated introductions” just like when you go to a party with a good host.Afterwards, if there’s interest (you discreetly circle on your interest sheet who you would like to hear from again), you’ll get an email with links to contact your “mutual matches.” There’s no pressure, no rejection, no embarrassment and no games, just fun!Unfortunately, the transient nature of the place means there are a lot of mentally unstable people and con artists there. I'm on an online dating website ad I noticed a lot of men under 30 are already divorced or have kids or both. It's not unusual to find people who have been married and divorced three, four, or five times. Hard to find someone with at least a BA or BS too (education is a value that I have always had).
This weekend is the Air Races..kinds of interesting people there, and not for the faint of $$$.
There are some good restaurants and bars near the Aces stadium. The Knitting Factory is a band venue that comes to mind but may be a bit younger crown than you are looking for.
Reno has some great food trucks with an eclectic group of followers.
Probably a good time to explore new hobbies as well, it may introduce you to entirely new groups of people.
Take up beer or wine making or both, join the local club and ask questions.. It's very, very difficult to meet other singles in Reno.
