Authority in academic matters is delegated by The Regents to the Academic Senate, which consists of faculty and certain administrative officers.
The Academic Senate determines academic policy for the University as a whole, sets conditions for admission and the granting of degrees, authorizes and supervises courses and curricula, and advises the University administration on faculty appointments, promotions, and budgets.
