Tried using @bios and updating with a downloaded BIOS file. The only optins I get in there is updating from floppy drive, which i dont have. Tried doing update through internet, the program needed to shutdown.Fred And also, the fact that it runs in 4x but not in 8x must mean something. Is the card faulty so I should return it or does it require less power in 4x or something else?Fred Hi Bosskiller, Thanks for that extremely swift reply. If there is no performance difference depending on the bus speed, then why did they develop PCI-E with 16x bus speed?I mean, something is obviously wrong, either the card is faulty or my set-up is not compatible with the 7900GT.
Late last night I did do something that stopped it from freezing.
The specs for my PSU is: HE430_(with 16A output in the 12V rail)Everything ran smooth as yesterday with my Gigabyte 6600GT (silent pipe), also AGP.
Have anyone else had the same problem and come up with a solution or is this card just not compatible with my motherboard? Fred Hi Bosskiller, Thanks for that extremely swift reply. If there is no performance difference depending on the bus speed, then why did they develop PCI-E with 16x bus speed?
Someoone also suggested making a tiny fat 32 partition on my hard drive and putting the bios file there. Both usb flash and hd are recognized by bios though.
It gives me an error "cannot load rom image from bin file, maybe bin file size not match". I formatted the flash drive in fat 32 and tried that, no luck.
